Imagine that you are standing in the supermarket and thinking about something tasty for the cosy Friday evening. Imagine that you have two different choices. The first one is a fine selection of fresh and exotic fruits bursting with yummy goodness and natural flavours. mmmmm (Can you feel the taste?) Imagine that the second choice is a very pricy bag of mass-produced candy that contains at least 5 different chemicals beginning with the letter E and a great deal of processed pig fat. Well...what did you chose?
The choice is clear, we would definitely chose the fruit option if there was a big price difference between candy and fruit. I will now explain in more detail why we should introduce a tax on unhealthy food.
To begin with, you’ve only got one body and we need to take good care of it. Your health will definitely benefit from a tax on unhealthy food as you would buy it less often. And remember an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Furthermore, we must think about the children, they are the future pillar of our society. We cannot afford to spoil them with crisps and candy we must give them a balanced diet and a independent research project actually proved that parents tend to buy healthy snacks such as fruit in favour of unhealthy candy.
But wait a minute some people in here might think that this is unfair, think about all those companies that produce all the unhealthy stuff. Hell no! They should see this as an opportunity to invest in healthier products. You must sometimes divert from the main road to be able to reach your destination.
Finally, it is obvious that we need to impose a tax on unhealthy food as we have so much to gain. Our bodies will shine and our children will have a chance to grow up without too many chemicals in their systems’.
